Happy St. Patrick’s day! For those of you living under a Shamrock, St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17th. A day of revelry, good food, great beer and pretty much all things green. Did I mention great beer? Well let’s just say that part again. GREAT BEER! Whether you’re into Guinness, Harp or Murphy’s Irish Red, St Patty’s is all about kicking back a few pints with friends.
Now before we all go floating away let’s talk good food. Traditional Irish food is some of the best comfort food in the world and there is no better day to indulge in some over eating. So here are a few of my favorite recipes to keep you going.
This dish has become more of a North American tradition giving us not only a good family meal, but also the added bonus of leftover corned beef sandwiches!
Traditional Irish Shepherd’s Pie
A staple in any Irish kitchen where yummy aromas make your house feel like home. For easier clean up, try baking in a disposable aluminum pan.
Warm bread served with butter and jam… Need I say more?
Now that we are all good and properly stuffed the next round of green beer is on me!
Sláinte!
