Proctor & Gamble is the parent company of over fifty of the world’s most recognized consumer brands, including Downy, Cascade, Charmin and Tide. But did you know that over fifty percent of P&Gs innovations came from outside innovators? Proctor & Gamble’s Connect + Develop program is a innovation strategy that partners with inventors and entrepreneurs to collaborate on great new products or improve existing ones. In fact, the popular Swiffer Sweeper brand of cleaning supplies got it’s start this same way.
Connect + Develop was launched ten years ago. P&G maintains over 1,000 partnerships with innovators and is looking to triple that. Some brands that were started from this R&D sharing program include Swiffer dusters, Olay Regenerist, Tide Total Care, Mr Clean magic eraser, Clairol Perfect10 and Oral B Pulsonic toothbrush. If you have an idea for a new product or an improvement to an existing P&G product, visit the Connect + Development center to learn how a partnership with P&G can make your innovation a reality.
